Tabernacle of Praise Street Ministry was established March 2007 under the leadership of Pastor W. J. Dawson, Tabernacle of Praise Wadley, Georgia.

The Ministry meets every third Saturday at 10:00 am at Tabernacle of Praise located at 234 Cedar Street, Wadley, Georgia. The ministry comes together on one accord in the name of Jesus Christ with prayer.

The street ministry then goes out and covers all areas beyond the walls of the church. The areas the street ministry focuses on are nursing homes, youth and elderly, hospitals, street corners, door to door and jails and prisons. The approach is not to condemn but to give personal testimony of how Jesus Christ delivered each of us from a path of destruction.

We believe love is the key to helping someone that wants to be helped. We do not force our beliefs on anyone but only go where an invitation is extended.

"A Letter To The Streets"

Dear Brothers and Sisters: I am Pastor W. J. Dawson of Tabernacle of Praise, Wadley, Georgia. I came to know of you through life experiences with mankind. After living many years in the world and on the front street with Satan, I have come to realize we all are in a place where Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy. As part of the mission God has me on I reach out to brothers and sisters with love in the name of Jesus Christ. The street ministry is beyond the walls of the church.

First, I want you to know that I am not writing you to condemn you or put you down. However, I am writing because I have overcome through Jesus Christ and want to share my testimony with you.

Statistics say those who are released from prison normally return over and over again. I was sentenced to prison some years ago and felt my life was over. I felt my life was over and at a point gave up on never being free again.

Although I am an educated man, were an elected official, a businessman and civil rights leader; I fell because I made a decision to live a life without God. It was the choices I made that determined my destination. I submit to you that your future is in your own hands with the blessings of God. God has given you a choice and if you are in sin you are also in a prison.

When I was in prison, I made up my mind that society would not define who I am because God spoke goodness into my life before the foundation of the world. So I no longer just spoke words of freedom and power over my life, but only spoke positive words followed with positive action. What are positive words with negative action? Words have no power unless the heart is willing to follow the will of God. We are not a result of what we say only my brothers and sisters, but what we say and do. What we put out in life is what comes back to us. A good tree will yield good fruit; a corrupt tree will yield corrupt fruit. Are you angry? Is there hate in your life? Do you feel like society has done you wrong? Do you feel like your family turned their backs on you? Do you feel like you are in this world by yourself? Do you feel like a good life is over for you? You are not alone. I also have been there and done that. Only you can answer these questions for yourself.

You must realize that forgiveness is the beginning of a new life. Every day you get up you have a new opportunity to get it together. You see I could have died in prison but prayer and faith in God, determination to not give up and a willingness to forgive and take control of my own life brought me out.

If someone disrespects me, it is not the disrespect that causes damage to me, but my reactions to it. Anger is something that will destroy anyone. When people can no longer make you angry then they have no control over you. Satan can care less about your future because he is on a mission to hell.

God has placed your life in your hands with Jesus as your guide. However, until you come to the realization of who determines your destiny, you will forever struggle with yourself. The flesh is weak and we all need Jesus to direct our paths. It is necessary to trust in Jesus.

So I guess you are wondering why I am taking the time to write you this letter and not even know you. Well, because God never gave up on me. Although society counted me out and said life was over for me, God said I could do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me. I know that with God all things are possible.

God bless you my brothers and sisters, and I pray you take this life God has given you and live the rest of your life with joy, peace and happiness. But know for sure that you will never be able to fight Satan without God as the head of your life. Remember, the past is gone forever and will never return. However, today is before you and what life is is what you want life to be. God has given you power and dominion. Satan is already defeated. Let go of the past because that is the only way you can make the best of today.

There are people who already predict you won't make it. Satan is a lie! All glory is to God. Please share this letter with someone. May God bless!
